Water Rats win again to secure finals spot for now
RUGBY UNION: Warwick Water Rats pair Lachy Winten and Tom Winter scored two tries each as Warwick made it two wins in succession at Risdon Oval on Saturday.
Warwick won 43-19 against St George and secured a bonus point which boosts the team's chances to make the finals play-offs.
Front rower Dean Cullen played his best game in Rats colours.
Water Rats manager Alastair Costello said his rock solid defence and dominant scrummaging earned Cullen man of the match.
"Tom Winter and Jared Fearby were dynamic in the centres while Joe Levick controlled the tempo of the match from scrumhalf.”
Warwick will travel to Goondiwindi on Saturday for the B-grade game which is likely to be played on the same program as an A-grade match between Gatton and Goondiwindi. B-grade will be a tough ask for Warwick against a team second on the table.
TABLE B GRADE: Dalby 42 (10 games), Goondiwindi 39 (10), St George 38 (100), Warwick 22 (9), University 16 (9), Condamine 10 (8), Rangers 6 (8), Bears 5 (8).
