Waterhouse pays $380k for Gladfield colt
THE Queen of racing Gai Waterhouse has secured a bay/brown colt offered by the Nolan family of Rosari, Gladfield, at the Magic Millions Sale at the Gold Coast.
The colt was bought by Blue Sky Bloodstock/Gai Waterhouse Racing for $380,000.
The yearling is by Exceed and Excel out of Quack It.
Rosari Farms sold two yearlings to Hong Kong Jockey Club for $240,000 and $110,000.
It also sold a brown colt by Paul Perry Racing for $200,000, a bay colt for $50,000 and a grey colt for $40,000.
Raheen stud, Gladfield, sold a black colt by Commands to Aquanita Racing, Victoria, for $340,000 and a brown colt out of Sebring to Moody Racing for $250,000. Raheen has also secured two $150,000 prices, two sales at $46,000, one at $170,000 and one at $70,000.
Irish interests bought a bay filly from Noralla, Gladfield, for $100,000. The buyer was Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock/BBA Ireland.
It also sold a brown/bay colt for $85,000 and yearlings for $75,000 and $70,000 to Victorian interests.
Lyndhurst Stud, Warwick, sold a bay colt to Hawkes Racing for $140,000. Queensland interests bought a bay filly for $80,000 and a bay colt for $90,000.
The stud was represented by two fillies by Sequalo in the main race at the Magic Millions on Saturday but neither was in the winner's circle.
