Wattles primed for clash

THE National Farmer's Warehouse Wattles Warriors first graders are looking to continue their three-match winning run on Sunday at Platz Oval when they take on the Valleys Roosters in what could reasonably be termed a grudge match.

The Roosters have been a dominant force in the Toowoomba Rugby League for much of the past decade, but 2013 has seen them come back to the field somewhat.

Coach Luke Duggan is well aware a Wattles win could well see them step up a rung on the Hutchinson Builders premiership ladder, the Warriors currently in fourth place. He has named the same team that dealt Brothers a 48 - 10 defeat last week, and while he was still somewhat disappointed with his side's performance, "they are improving every game".

The Duggan brothers Matt and Ryan are in superb form in the halves, centres Tim Hentschel and Matt McCarthy relishing the opportunities presented. Wattles have the vital go-forward in the forward pack on Sunday, and a polished set of backs to take full advantage of point-scoring opportunities.

Matches kick off at 11.30 am (Under 18). 12.55pm (Reserve Grade) and 2.30pm (A Grade)
