Wattles storm home for easy win in TRL

RUGBY LEAGUE: A hat-trick of tries by Wattles skipper and second-rower Ryan Duggan was key to his Wattles Warriors A-grade side galloping all over the Brothers Leprachauns winning 44-6 on Saturday at Platz Oval.

It was the win that Wattles had to have to stem a worrying premiership ladder slide.

Aside from the vital premiership points, the Warriors added the Dan Ryan Memorial Trophy for 2017 to their trophy cabinet, the prestigious award contested annually between Wattles and Brothers, former clubs of late Toowoomba Clydesdales representative Dan Ryan.

Wattles ran in an impressive nine tries to one on their home turf, and are now well within reach of the top six.

Brothers took the winning honours in both reserve grade and under-18 games.

Wattles Jordan Henry crossed for two tries in the 22-12 reserve-grade loss while Brothers dominated the U18 contest eventually winning 44-12.
