WATTLES Coach Luke Duggan is eager to see new front-rower Chris Warden in action in his 'National Farmer's Warehouse' Wattles A grade side when they take on the Oakey 'Bears at Trevor Mickelborough Oval this evening.

Warden impressed coming off the bench in the Warriors last start win over Dalby, the prop forward impressing and gaining promotion to the run on side today.

A tradesman electrician who hails from Macksville in New South Wales, Warden has played his senior career with Macksville and last year with the Tugan 'Sea Hawks' on the Gold Coast.

Duggan is keen to have Wattles continue on their winning way this weekend, the majority of his side enjoying a rest last weekend due to the Central Division '47th Battalion Trophy' carnival in Roma.

Wattles players Matt Duggan, Jason Bradfield, Joel Koina and Corey Blades were all members of the '47th Battalion Trophy' victorious Toowoomba side, but as Duggan quips, "It's back to business today".

"We're going in the right direction and have to keep it that way," he said.

A win today could see the Wattles A Grade side climb to second rung on the TRL premiership ladder, with four scalps to their belt from five games, undefeated but for their first match of the season.

Despite being without experienced back-rower Aaron Scheid and winger Robbie Moore, Coach Duggan feels his side can produce the goods to snatch two more premiership points from the 'Hutchies Cup' match of the round.

Kick off times today in Oakey are 2pm - Millmerran versus Oakey (2nd Division); 3.20 pm - Wattles verses Oakey (Under 18); 4.45 pm - Reserve Grade and 6.10 pm - A Grade.
