Wattles under-18 players step up well into A grade

RUGBY LEAGUE: Wattles went down 52-26 to Valleys at Herb Steinohrt Oval in TRL footy yesterday.

Valleys led 30-12 at half-time. Half-back Michael Duggan, prop Mitchell Duff and centre Tyrone Jowett were three of the best for Wattles.

Coach Gary Lawrence told the players he was happy with the effort after his side lost four players with injuries during the game.

The injuries are not major but some of the players are in doubt for next week's round.

Four players from the Wattles U18 side backed up in A-grade and had strong games.

In reserve grade, Valleys won 64-6 with Will Manley the best for Wattles.

Wattles went down 38-18 in the under-18 game.

On Saturday at Platz Oval, Wattles host Dalby in the final fixture round of the season. Wattles juniors participated in the RizeUp fund-raising day at Stanthorpe on Saturday.
