Wattles under-18 side goes down in close game

RUGBY LEAGUE: Wattles went down in all three grades on Ladies Day at Platz Oval on Saturday.

The high point of the day for Wattles was a 40-34 loss to Souths in the under-18 game. The Wattles colts have played some great footy this season and are improving all the time.

Wattles went down 66-0 in reserve grade and lost 26-8 in A grade.

The club has been hit hard with injuries this season after starting the year with only a couple of players from last year's A-grade team which made it back-to-back premierships in 2015.

Coach Gary Lawrence is relying heavily on graduates from the Wattles juniors and U18s in A grade this season as well as experienced Stanthorpe pair Jason Wilmot and captain Dale Perkins.
