OPINION: Spirit of Warwick community brings great neighbours
WE ALL hear and talk about what a generous, kind and caring community we live in.
But it's not until you're on the receiving end of the generosity that you realise just how great the people of Warwick are.
For the past 18 months I've grown to know my neighbours, whether it's a wave over the fence or a quick coffee - we've become close.
I have been blessed with great neighbours, the kind who get your mail when you're away or feed your dogs if you're on holiday.
With the spring weather upon me, my lawn has grown a little faster than expected - and I was facing a big job to get it under control.
After a long day in the office on Thursday, I arrived home late to find my lawn and gardens perfectly manicured.
At first I was confused, but after some true investigative journalism work I soon found out the kind deed that had been done for me.
My neighbours had paired up and done a spring clean of my backyard.
I was absolutely blown away, so surprised by the generosity of these two lovely families who sacrificed their afternoon to lend a hand.
It just goes to show, we live in a close and caring community.
Take the time to introduce yourself to your neighbours, and get to know them - you never know what a great friendship you're missing out on.
