Wearing purple for good cause

NEXT month a group of friends will don purple for a cause - to help raise money for epilepsy.

The Meeting Place is somewhere to make new friends, socialise and build self-confidence.

Jean Edwards has been a member of the group for more than 13 years and decided it was time they did something to help the community.

"We've had some members with epilepsy and we decided to support Purple Day for Epilepsy," Mrs Edwards said.

Purple Day for Epilepsy is held on March 26.

The Meeting Place group was developed in 1999 and over the years, members have made great, life-long friendships.

But the group is always on the lookout for new members.

"We have a lot of fun together," Mrs Edwards said.

"I was only meant to go along for a couple of weeks. But I've been coming back for 13 years."

The Meeting Place group gets together each Tuesday morning at the Anglican Church hall.

If you would like to join the group and raise money for charity, or learn more about their Purple Day, then head to the Anglican Church hall on any Tuesday morning, or phone Jean on 4661 2151.
