Weather watch: Cold and hopefully wet weekend ahead

THE Southern Downs and Granite Belt are in line for rain this weekend.

Although it seems unlikely that we'll experience the heavy falls other regions are expecting, showers are forecast from today through until Sunday night.

Tomorrow looks like the best day for it, with a 70% chance of rain forecast.

Temperatures will remain fairly cold during today and tomorrow with an expected maximum of 15 degrees both days.

The temperature should get down to seven degrees tonight and 10 degrees tomorrow night.

Sunday's maximum is forecast to be between 18 and 21 degrees with a 30% chance of rain.

At this point, next week's outlook is for cloudy days but with daytime temperatures creeping up into the low 20s.
