Wedding industry gathers for Warwick expo

NEWLY-engaged couples have another reason to celebrate as Warwick's wedding industry leaders get set to gather, offering all the best local options for when it comes to planning the big day.

The Darling Downs Wedding and Event Exhibition, is being hosted by DD Event Hire and will take place at the Warwick Cowboys Clubhouse on Sunday, January 28.

The event will feature more than 15 local wedding industry suppliers and organiser Jo Lawrence said it was the perfect start to making your special day one to remember.

"All bar two of our exhibitors are from Warwick,” she said.

"So it's a great opportunity to seeing what we have available right here at home.

"From event hire to photographers, limo hire, videographer, venues, wedding attire, suit hire, hairdressers, floristry, decorators, stylists, caterers, music and lighting specialists.”

Mrs Lawrence said the focus on local suppliers was important.

"Many people may not realise that we have all these great suppliers in town,” she said.

"It's also a chance for the businesses to showcase their wares.

"Most have industry experience and have started into business for the local market.

"The point was to bring them all together and provide an exhibition for the newly or future engaged couples around the region.”

The exhibition has been a few months in the making and Mrs Lawrence said they had covered most bases.

"There's a great variety without an overload of information,” she said.

"We wanted to have someone come along who is relative to each part of the wedding experience.”

Mrs Lawrence and husband Gary started DD Event Hire in 2017.

"I'd had more than four years working in the industry in Toowoomba and could see there was a gap in the market here in Warwick,” she said.

"There was no one who could provide event furniture and supplies, like chairs, tables, marquee hire etc.

"So that's where we laid our base.

"Essentially if you wanted to run an event in the middle of a paddock, we can organise that.”

Entry to the exhibition will be by gold coin donation and it runs from 10am to 2pm.

The major door prize is 40 per cent discount off a wedding package from DD Event Hire.
