Week a real experience

MY WEEK here at the Daily News has been wonderful, but also very different to anything I have done before.

I have learnt so much. I'd just like to thank all of the team at the Daily News (and all those people I've pestered in the street) for helping me to gain more confidence and skills.

On my first day, when I was given a camera, pen and a notebook and told to go and ask three people how long ago they'd bought their first mobile phone, I was so nervous.

But then I found out that it wasn't all that hard, that most people don't mind talking to a freaked-out work experience kid.

Then, when I got to write my first story, I was excited, but still really, really nervous. Although, I guess it will probably become easier once I get used to writing articles.

This week has just made me even more excited about going to university and studying journalism. Hopefully one day I will get a job as a reporter overseas.

One of the most important things I have learnt over the past few days is that you have to put yourself out there and just talk to people.

Well, I'm still working on that one.

Once again, thankyou so much to everyone one at the Daily News for giving me the chance to see what it is like to be a journalist, I appreciate what you all did for me and I enjoyed the week so much!
