Welcome to Warwick’s coldest morning of 2016
WARWICK residents are shivering through a well below-zero start to the day, as winter arrives on the Southern Downs, two days early.
This morning's minimum of -3 degrees should be one of the coldest mornings of the year, according to meteorologist Andrew Bufalino from the Bureau of Meterology.
"We have a very dry air mass, little moisture and no cloud," he said.
"Essentially perfect conditions for very cold weather, especially on the Granite Belt and Southern Downs.
"The expected maximum for Monday is 21 degrees and the mornings will warm up a little as we start to see a upper trough push east through eastern Australia, which could mean healthy rain for the region."
