Well done to Aussie T20 on top billing
Howzat column with Michael Bourke
AUSTRALIA has moved up from 7th to the top ranked men's T20 cricket side in the world after defeating New Zealand in the final this week.
Part of the reasons for the success of the team must be that the side was picked on form from the BBL with the Test players excluded apart from Warner in order to give him the captaincy.
It was a joy to watch the last pool game that the Aussies played in, to chase down a world record score of 243 runs with Short, Maxwell and Finch scoring their runs at a rapid rate to clinch the win with seven balls to go.
Rep finals
THE Warwick Cricket Association is proud of their representative players to qualify for both the Mitchell and Davis Shield finals this Sunday.
For mine the difference has been the improvement in the bowling of both sides in their last pool games at Slade Park, where both Warwick sides dismissed their opposition cheaply.
With the Warwick under-12 and U14 rep sides playing pool games in the Lockyer this Sunday as well we could have other sides make representative finals before the season is finished.
Horse tip
My horse tip for this Saturday is for Lord of the Sky in the Futurity Stakes
