Well done to Warwick player on selection

NETBALL CHAT with Linda Bunch

THIS week we celebrate Caitlin Skaines's invitation to attend the State 17U Emerging Player camp.

The camp is the next phase in the process of selecting the 2018 Queensland 17U team. At this camp a squad will be selected, from which the final team will be announced.

For Caitlin to have progressed to this stage, she has put many hours of training and game play into her netball. Players like Caitlin are extremely valuable to any team and association. She is exceptionally keen to learn; is a sponge for information, direction, guidance and coaching. Add her natural sporting ability and fitness, along with her character and positive attitude, and you have a golden egg.

The current high-performance player pathway ensures progressing to higher levels through identification and monitoring is achievable for all players across Queensland. A two-stage nomination and identification process followed by the monitoring of the player at various state level events for both associations and schools brings players like Caitlin to this next phase.

This is great news for regional players and associations.

To know hard work, dedication and commitment anywhere in the state can produce the next Laura Geitz gives every young player the ambition to strive for greatness. We will keenly follow Caitlin's progress, knowing she will give it her best, and should she wear green and gold in years to come, we will proudly say she is from Warwick.
