'We’re up for a challenge': Young couple buys Warwick motel

AT JUST 23 years old, Nina Bloom is the new owner of City View Motel.

Seeking an opportunity to move back to the region, Nina Bloom and new husband Alex, 26, are certain they're up for the challenge.

"It's been a whirlwind, Alex is actually in the process of discharging from the army in the Northern Territory and settlement happened so quickly so I'm here on my own at the moment," she said.

"It's hard but we want to be able to have the freedom of working for ourselves, setting up for the future. It's a lot of hard work but I love it and I'm sure Alex will too."

Mrs Bloom moved from Darwin two weeks ago, bringing with her experience working in hotels for more than three years.

"I moved for Alex - he's always been in the army but now it's time to come back to an area we know and love to start our family and a new adventure," she said.

The couple met in Toowoomba five years ago and frequently journeyed to Warwick for Jumpers and Jazz and Morgan Park races.

"We married in Vanuatu in September and now we're starting a really exciting chapter where we'll be together all the time for the first time in our relationship," she said.

Despite moving in the midst of drought, Mrs Bloom was positive hard work and fresh ideas would see them through.

"I've been working in hospitality my whole working life and Alex is looking for a career change, he's an electronic engineer so he'll cover repairs and cooking and I'll do the rest and the admin side," she said.

"We were looking for a community spirit in Warwick that you can't get anywhere else so we want to be here."

Making the purchase in early January, Nina has been working tirelessly to get the business into shape with the help of her parents.

"I get a lot of scepticism about my age but at the end of the day I'm putting in the hours … and I have that fresh energy and enthusiasm we really want to succeed," she said
