Westpac sponsors not one, but two golf days in Warwick
WARWICK'S Westpac branch has made a generous offer to a group of visiting golfers after the bank's golf day was postponed.
Members of the Paradise Golf Club were in town last week for the Westpac Golf Day, which was originally meant to be held on Friday.
However, the golf day was postponed.
Instead of letting a good day of golfing weather go to west, the Westpac branch pitched in and sponsored a day especially for the visiting golfers and a few locals.
Warwick Golf Club committee member Gary Adcock said the visiting players were very grateful.
"It was good community support from Westpac," he said.
"Everybody's a winner - the boys all went up to the races and they want to come back and do it again next year."
The winner of the event was Neil Carney with 40 stableford points.
All golfing eyes in the Rose City are now turned to tomorrow's Westpac Golf Day.
Westpac local business banker Dom Benz said the bank had been sponsoring the golf day for six years.
"It's a great event on the golfing calendar," he said.
"It's something that lets us involve the good majority of business operators in town."
Nominations for the golf day are still open at the Warwick Golf Club's Pro Shop.
Tee off is at 12.30pm.
