Wet weather to soak region
HOPEFULLY Warwick residents got out and enjoyed the beautiful days on offer in the city at the weekend, with wet weather set to send people back indoors during the coming days.
Weatherzone forecaster Brett Dutschke said heavy rains were likely to soak Warwick today, bringing to an end the warm days of the past week.
"Now that you've had a few days break from real rain, it does look like it's coming back. And it looks like today is going to be the wettest day of this week," he said.
With heavy falls predicted for the area there is a chance of flash flooding, but Mr Dutschke said it was likely to affect areas more to the north and east of the region.
"In the area, most likely to the north-east, there is potential for more than 50mm, but Warwick itself is likely to get 10-25mm," he said.
Mr Dutschke said the wet weather is the result of the trough system, which has been oscillating over New South Wales for a week.
Mr Dutschke said there is still a chance of showers and storms in the area tomorrow.
Any rain to hit the area is likely to be about 5-15mm.
"For Tuesday it looks like there will be some stabilising, due to a south-east wind change," Mr Dutschke said.
The change should bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity.
