CRICKET: Carly Cooper top scored with 29 off 29 balls in the Queensland Country loss to East Asia Pacific in the Australian Women's Country Cricket Championships in Wollongong today.
Batting first, Queensland made 9-81 with Cooper top scoring after opening the batting.
Cooper then took a catch as East Asia Pacific scored 2-82 to win.
In a round 6 game against South Australia Country, Cooper hit 25 off 27 balls and Clifton batter Eliza Flynn 16 off 26 balls in the Queensland Country win.
Flynn took her wicket tally to 13 in round 5 of the carnival with 4-28 in a loss to Victorian Country.
Cooper started her good batting form in this game to be second top score with 26 off 26 balls.
The trip to Wollongong is the second interstate for Cooper in the past four months as she represented Queensland in under-21 polocrosse in Western Australia late last year.
While it won't happen this year, Cooper wants to one day field an all-girls team in the Warwick Australia Day Cricket Carnival.
Queensland Country has three wins from six games in Wollongong.
