Who are players to watch in social teams in cricket weekend
Digglers: The winning social team from the past two carnivals is hoping to win yet again. Dion Galloway was the best all rounder of the carnival two years ago and last year it was just a good team effort in the grand final. The team is organised by Craig Hempel and Darren Costello.
Annie's XI: Team plays in memory of the late Annie Morgan. Five of her grandchildren are in the team, including captain Damien Lawler. Nathan Bell will bring experience to the side and former Brisbane A-grader Dean Murphy will play after being the leading run getter last year.
Dutch Rudders: Former Warwick junior Chris Polkinghorne is organising a Brisbane team in the Warwick carnival for a third time. Leg spinner Aaron Chalmers will be one to watch along with wicketkeeper batsman Matt Graham. Polkinghorne aims to hit every ball for four, no singles.
Hurricanes Elite: Team made their first final last year. The Bohm brothers shone for Hurricanes in 2017 when the team put in their best performances in more than a decade of carnivals. Team formed by David Hallman and includes a lot of his mates from rugby league. Mark Fowler is always a trump card but not available for every game.
Sel's XI: Team plays in memory of the late Sel Brackin, a boxing trainer who steered Marcus Priaulx to the Olympics. Gav Beckhouse will captain a team which also includes Mick Brackin, Nikki Hornberg, Grant Beckhouse and the team's best bowler Kobi Tate. Hornberg will be one of the few women in the carnival but is always hard to dismiss.
Dale's XI: Laurie Wagner organises a team in memory of the late Dale Roser. Down the years, Dale played a lot of club cricket for a team now called Sovereign Animals. Half the Animals team will play along with visitors from as far as Adelaide and Roxby Downs. Wagner will play along with his four sons, Matthew, Robert, Joey and Marc.
Bailey's XI: Allora cricketer Jamie Holmes is organising a team which includes many members of the Blue Cow team from past carnivals. Some of the players to watch are opening batsmen Brad Johnson and Ben McClure. Half of the team are Railway Hotel Rascals players from club cricket.
Muzza's Men: Ross Hemmings is organising a team of mates for a third year playing in memory of the late Adam Merrell. Adam played rugby league for the Warwick Cowboys and was a accomplished bull rider. Key players include Justin Brickley, Joel Merrell, the Owens brothers, Nick and Jason, and Harold Byrne.
Rettke's XI: Play in memory of star Warwick Mitchell Shield cricketer, the late Denis Rettke. Tony Hausfeld has been the long-time captain of a team which has included his son Stephen. The team has played for over 25 years and is blooding some young guns this season.
