From banking to healing, fresh face behind Allora business
AN EXCITING new re-branding has taken place in Allora, with yesterday's launch of the Wild Sage Wellness Studio.
Formerly known as 4362 Therapy, the business has now changed hands, and is owned by Jaimie McMillan.
Mrs McMillan said she was thrilled to head the new changes as she embarked on her first business venture.
"I've been in the business for three years, and decided to take it over," she said.
"The idea came into works at the end of November, when the former owner decided to scale back her role.
"It has been completely re-branded, and the retail pathway has gone from clothes and fashion to wellness products."
The move to ownership caps a complete change of career for Mrs McMillan, who completed more than a decade in the finance and banking sector.
"I didn't see it coming," she said.
"I was in banking and finance for 13 years, but when I moved back to Allora from Brisbane, I realised banking wasn't where I was meant to be.
"I studied at the Australian College of Natural Medicine when I left school and hated it, but since coming back I realised my journey was to be a healer."
The new product line, including teas and bath salts, is designed to offer something new to the Southern Downs.
"I want to offer people something they haven't seen before," Mrs McMillan said.
"In Allora there is nowhere to come and buy these sort of products, so we wanted to be different.
"It is sourced exclusively here, and we hope to see people come from Warwick and even Toowoomba.
"One of my biggest passions is giving people the option of holistic health and wellness.
"Health isn't just physical, it is mental and spiritual as well, and it is something people are embracing more and more.
"When I started massage, I didn't think there was as big a demand as there is."
Therapy services will be offered by the fresh Allora business, as they look to retain and expand their client base.
"Wild Sage will continue to offer remedial massage, cupping and dry needle therapy," Mrs McMillan said.
"Our therapist will offer beauty services, and I'm also studying kinesiology.
"A lot of our fantastic customer base came in today and commented on how excited they were."
Wild Sage Wellness Studio is located at 45 Herbert St, Allora. Opening hours are Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm and by appointment on Monday and Saturday. For more information, contact 4666 3639.
