Wildcats lose in top men's grade to Toowoomba team

BASKETBALL: Warwick went down in all three grades to USQ Dragons in round five of the new Big Q Basketball League at Harristown.

USQ is unbeaten in all three grades while the loss in men's A grade was the first for Warwick this season in the top men's grade.

The Dragons team walked into the game against Warwick Wildcats full of confidence.

Perhaps too much confidence according to player/coach Jack Gallagher.

"They were a lot more physical and bigger than us,” he said.

The Dragons were up by just one point at half time.

Wildcats took over the lead in the third quarter.

"They definitely caught us off guard I think that's why we struggled a little bit,” Gallagher said.

"We just locked in and got to a 20-point lead at one point.”

The 11-point win over Warwick has cemented the Dragons top spot on the men's table.
