Wildcats off their game at weekend

THE Subway Warwick Wildcats lost their second game in a row on Saturday night at WIRAC against the Northside Wizards.

After averaging 92 points a game over their first four games of the season, the Wildcats struggled to score for the second week in a row, losing the game 70-53.

"This is a game that was definitely winnable," coach Jeff Clark said.

"We failed to execute our offences properly, and forced a lot of passes and low percentage shots. It's very disappointing to see a team with so much talent not playing to their potential."

Paul Aleer threw down two massive dunks on his way to top-scoring with 20 points.

One saving grace for the team is that next weekend is a bye round for the whole league.

Clark plans to take his team into a half-day camp in Toowoomba next weekend, where they will do a solid training session, followed by a tough game against the Toowoomba Mountaineers QBL team.

Toowoomba will have James Legan and former NBL player Willie Farley lining up for them, which should give the Wildcats a hard hit out.

Warwick scorers

Paul Aleer 20, Max Quinlan-Ward 12, Declan Starasts 11, Josh Cremasco 6, Snowy Quinn 4, Jesse Pyke 4, Peter Achuil 2.
