Wildcats to play successive home games at WIRAC
BASKETBALL: The Warwick Wildcats will have home court advantage for the semi finals of the Heathley Big Q League on November 10.
The Wildcats had nine wins from nine games in the fixture competition, making them the minor premiers so their round 10 game against Saints this Saturday at 7pm at WIRAC will have no impact on Warwick's finishing position.
Warwick will play a second successive weekly game at WIRAC on November 10 against likely second-place finishers Saints in what will be the major semi final.
In the other semi on November 10, Pop Dickerson's team Runnin Rebels will play USQ Dragons. WIRAC and Wildcats officials are keen to attract a large crowd to the semis on Saturday week.
Dickerson is a long-time Toowoomba Mountaineers who at his best was the leading scorer in the Queensland Basketball League.
The Warwick team has been boosted by the return of former QBL player and long-time Warwick club player D. J. Cremasco. He suffered a foot injury when he stepped on a rock when running along the beach but returned off the bench in last week's Wildcats win against Saints.
There is a good chance Cremasco may start the game this Saturday. The Warwick White reserve-grade team will play Runnin Rebels Grey in the 5.30pm curtain raiser to the A-grade game this Saturday.
