Win can seal finals
RUGBY UNION: It is crunch time for the Warwick Water Rats with just two rounds remaining in the regular season.
The team must first travel to Goondiwindi, before hosting second-placed St George next week.
Warwick is currently fifth, four points clear of Condamine in sixth position.
Condamine is at home to the lowly-positioned University of Southern Queensland, before travelling to Toowoomba to take on the Rangers in its final game.
The Rangers are currently in a tussle for second spot, which will work in Warwick's favour.
Warwick will be without captain Anthony Savovski (ankle) and outside back Josh Sharman (knee), however coach Vlad Savovski said his team will take confidence from victory earlier in the season against Goondiwindi.
"We'll look to keep the same structure,” Savovski said.
"The aim is to take it to them up front, hopefully get the ball out wide and give our backs space to move.
"We want the forwards to dominate the breakdowns, lineouts and scrums.”
Savovski said that his team was aware of how important this game was.
"I couldn't tell them enough at training how vital it was to come away with the win,” he said.
"The loss last week to Condamine definitely hurt us, particularly given they are hot on our tails on the ladder.
"A win would almost certainly cement a finals spot.
"Next week is massive with the women's carnival, sponsors day and old boys day, so we want a big turnout.”
