Win for Qld polocrosse men

THE Queensland senior men’s team made it one win from two games at the Polocrosse Nationals in Ballarat yesterday.

Warwick pair Stuart Shepherd and Russell Owens, and former Killarney player Jacob Ross, were in the Queensland team which scored a 33-8 win against Northern Territory.

In the women’s division, Queensland wen down 21-12 to New South Wales. The Maroons side includes five players from Warwick and one from Cunningham.

There was a late start to play yesterday due to the official breakfast.

Plenty of Southern Downs players and officials played their part in yesterday’s action at the nationals.

Kent Wells and Rod Geppert officiated as referees, while Brad Hall and Paul McGrath were two of the umpires.

Other scores: NSW Masters d Qld 18-16, NSW Senior Mixed 19 d Qld 11, NSW Masters 26 d Qld 11, WA Women’s U21 15 d Qld 12, Qld U21 Mixed 13 d NT 11.
