Winter wonderland as cold snap brings snowfall to the South
MUCH of the Southern Downs expected snow to fall over the region due to a forecasted cold snap at the weekend.
A cold front did cause temperatures to plummet and deliver snow to parts of Northern New South Wales, such as at Tenterfield (pictured), but the icy weather did not cross the border into Queensland.
Sleet fell on Eukey in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Patches of frost are still anticipated for the region despite winds of up to 45 kilometres per hour expected over the next couple of days.
The wind chill will cause it to feel much cooler than the expected temperatures, with apparent temperatures falling into the low single figures for much of the region, before easing later today.
A maximum temperature of 10 degrees is expected for Warwick today, seven degrees below the July average.
Conditions will clear and gradually warm during the week.
