WIRAC pool opening delayed
THE damage done to the pumps at WIRAC has proven worse than first expected with the pool not expected to open until Thursday.
The pump room was flooded and the pumps have had to be sent away for repairs and the switchboard replaced.
WIRAC manager Don Warrener said the pools would be filled tomorrow.
"As long as the required parts arrive on time, the pool should be filled on Wednesday to allow for the water temperature to rise to a suitable level," he said.
"All going well the pools should be open Thursday morning," he added.
All other facilities at WIRAC are open for business as usual.
