Tourism board applauds J&J; as planning begins for next year
WITH the success of Warwick's Jumpers and Jazz in July being lauded across the region, the board of Destination Southern Downs has echoed the sentiments.
The group has acknowledged that events like Jumpers and Jazz bring significant and immediate financial gain and social enjoyment for visitors, residents and businesses in the region.
Board chairwoman Corinne Butler said the community was fortunate to have such a talented group of event organisers, energetic volunteers and fantastic artists to grow the festival into what it is today.
"Tourism is a positive industry, we look to it for enjoyment, fun and relaxation and Destination Southern Downs looks forward to next year's event with this same positive drive," she said.
Festival organisers Tracy Vellacott and Karina Devine are calling on interested residents, community organisation representatives, business operators and festival stakeholders to attend next week's Jumpers and Jazz wrap-up and review meeting.
"We'd love the chance to hear from the public on what they consider went well and what could be improved," Mrs Vellacott said.
The meeting will be held at 5.30pm next Tuesday at the Warwick Art Gallery Studio (enter via the loading dock door), Albion Street.

With Jumpers and Jazz under its belt, the board of Destination Southern Downs will now turn its attention to providing more expansive direction and management to the tourism industry throughout the region.
Immediate projects include the development of a marketing strategy, development of a membership structure and prospectus and improved e-communication.
