Wolves go down to Hawks

TIM Green scored the goal as Warwick Wolves went down 4-1 to South Hawks in a Toowoomba Football premier men's game at Queens Park yesterday.

South Hawks led 1-0 at half-time and increased the lead to 4-0 before Green scored in the final five minutes of play.

Club official Dom Benz said the whole side played consistently and held their positions well.

“South Hawks are clear leaders in the competition but we created some good opportunities,” Benz said.

Regular keeper Damien Young was out this week and his replacement, Warwick colts keeper Fraser Noble, performed well in his debut game.

Warwick received a forfeit from South Hawks in ladies football after having a squad of 12 at the ground for the game.

The colts had a bye but play Garden City White at 8pm Friday at USQ.

On Saturday, Warwick ladies play Willowburn at Willowburn at 7pm and the Warwick men meet USQ at USQ at 3pm Sunday.
