Wolves secure a win in Toowoomba football

FOOTBALL: The Warwick Wolves kept their finals hopes alive with a 2-1 win against fourth-placed Rockville at Queens Park on Saturday night.

On a cold night at Queens Park, Warwick led 1-0 at halftime.

Nick Spence scored a goal in what is his first season in open football. Tim Delaney also netted as both Warwick goals were from general play.

Warwick player Rob Davey said Bailey McDonald was strong in midfield.

"Sam McLennan had a good game up front,” Davey said.

All teams in Football Toowoomba premier fixtures have this weekend off and then Warwick faces leader USQ at USQ in a fortnight.

Carnival time

MORE than 350 players will be in Warwick for the Wolves junior carnival on Sunday.

Warwick teams have played in other centres this season but this Sunday will be the Warwick District Football Association carnival.

All Warwick players will also return to the fields at Queens Park for regular club games in all age groups on Saturday.
