Woman caught more than five times over limit

A DRIVER is alleged to have had a blood alcohol content reading of 0.281 - almost six times over the legal limit.

The 45-year-old woman had stopped her vehicle on the Carnarvon Hwy north of Roma about 4.30 on Thursday afternoon.

Police said they arrested the woman at the scene after a breath test was conducted.

She was charged with obstructing police and was later released that evening.

The woman will appear in court on December 6.

Roma police have advised they will increase their fixed roadside RBT presence in the region in response to continuing drink and drug driving offenders being caught in the area.
