Woman charged over stabbing

POLICE have charged a 29-year-old woman following an incident in which a man was wounded at Goomburra north of Warwick last night.

It will be alleged around 6.15pm a man and a woman were involved in a physical altercation at a Halls Road address when the man sustained an apparent stab wound to his abdomen.

The 55-year-old man was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious but stable condition and will undergo surgery.

A 29-year-old local woman has now been charged with one count of unlawful wounding and is due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Initial reports last night suggested the incident took place at Allora, with the injured person taken to the Freedom Fuels service station on the New England Highway, where a console operator called the emergency services.
