Woman injured after car collides with truck at Glenview

A 21-year-old woman was left trapped in a car following a crash on Steve Irwin Way this morning.

The car collided with a quarry truck on Steve Irwin Way near Mooloolah connection road, Glenview about 6.10am.

A police spokesman said the female driver was in a serious condition however her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Police at the scene told The Daily the woman's Toyota sedan's airbags deployed on impact.

The Queensland Ambulance Service treated her in the east bound lane.

The male truck driver was believed to be suffering non-severe injuries.

The truck with trailer blocked the road for some time. It also knocked down a set of traffic lights in the area which caused heavy traffic delays.

Bystanders helped to divert traffic.

Delays were still being experienced for northbound drivers.
