Women to inspire about living best life in the fast lane
MOTORSPORT: This year's Women in Motorsport Track Day will attract more than 60 participants to Morgan Park Raceway on Sunday.
Some of the women who compete regularly at Morgan Park will do laps of the raceway with Women in Sport participants.
There will be a restorative yoga session at 9.30am Sunday, after the welcome by the Warwick and District Sporting Car Club.
At lunchtime, inspirational guest speakers will address the issue of overcoming challenges in order to fulfil dreams.
Participants will have a chance to drive their own cars on the track, as well as act as flag marshals.
Event co-ordinator and club committee member Johanne Forbes said the Women in Sport Track Day had attracted women from as far as Brisbane and Casino.
"A lot of women from the Southern Downs and Granite Belt have registered for the day,” she said.
"Regular competitor Vikki Paxton will show drivers the best way to navigate the track and take some of the women on a lap in the club car.”
The next major meeting at Morgan Park Raceway is round 3B of the Queensland Super Sprints Series on the first weekend in August.
