World Cup heads to England
WARWICK-based Australian polocrosse captain Cameron Shepherd did what no national captain wants to do – hand over a major trophy.
It will hopefully only be for two months.
Australia holds the polocrosse World Cup after victory in Warwick in 2007 but the trophy was yesterday prepared for a trip to England ahead of July’s World Cup there and Shepherd hopes the trophy will soon return.
While he wasn’t part of the 2007 squad, making yesterday’s handover easier, Shepherd knows how important success is to the Australian sporting public.
