World's biggest inflatable water slide coming to Warwick!
IT'S as tall as a three-storey building, longer than a football field and the most thrilling way to beat the heat on the first weekend of summer.
The world's biggest inflatable water slide is coming to Warwick, set to turn Warwick Showgrounds into a Big Splash Water World.
On December 2-3 and 9-10, four slides will be set up for brave adults and children.
Big Splash Water World owner Jesse McDonald said the slides recently visited Australia Zoo, with Robert Irwin returning for four days and spending hours riding the slides.
"As soon you get into summer, everyone wants to get wet and the water slide it just puts a smile on your dial,” he said.
"You can't ride the big water slide once, you go down once you've got to go again.”
Mr McDonald said this was the first time the slides would visit Warwick.
"We're country people so our idea with the water slides to bring to the country towns,” he said.
"The country always misses out, there'll be an event 100km away but things don't make it to the country towns.”
A carnival vibe will be created for the four days at the showgrounds, with amusement games and traditional show food including fairy floss and dagwood dogs.
Mr McDonald said there was no obligation to ride the slide and people were welcome to go to the showgrounds to have a look before paying for a ticket.
"Anyone that wants to spectate can bring their table and chairs, we've got plenty of shade,” he said.
"They'll come down to a carnival atmosphere, the kids have a really good time.”
Wrist bands will be sold on each day offering three hours of unlimited sliding.
Bands cost $20 per person or $10 for children under 5.
Spectators can enter free.
Mr McDonald said there was no age limit for children, but children under 5 need to ride with an adult.
