Wounding trial called off after last-minute plea

ON THE day she was due to stand trial for wounding a man and assaulting two other people, a woman has instead pleaded guilty to all three charges in Warwick.

Kaitlyn Maree Brown entered her pleas this morning, while the jury that was supposed to decide her fate waited outside Warwick District Court.

Brown, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and one of wounding in relation to an incident that occurred in Warwick on March 30 last year.

Lawyer David Jones appeared for Brown and requested her matter be adjourned to the next sittings of the Warwick District Court.

The case has been listed for mention on October 7 and the Toowoomba woman was released on bail.
