Wow’s the factor as tickets sell out

LESS than 12 hours after they went on sale tickets for Women of Warwick's WOW Showtime breakfast in April were sold out.

Spokeswoman Sue Hamlet said WOW events have been in high demand since the events commenced in 2013.

"The first event sold out in a couple of days, and we thought that was amazing," Mrs Hamlet said. "Then it happened again and again, and now we rarely have tickets left after midday on the day of release."

WOW tickets are available to any women who would like to attend and Mrs Hamlet said the secret of the event success was simple - "people seek connection and inspiration, and WOW breakfasts offer that in bucket loads".

The event features a keynote speaker as well as a five-minute "word of wisdom" speaker, whose identity is kept secret until the event.

"It's a surprise package," said Mrs Hamlet.

"Team WOW loves to keep it fresh and the guests never know who's going to be speaking. But so far, we must be getting it right."

The group met for a breakfast planning meeting this week, and Ms Hamlet hinted there were many more surprises to come with future speakers.

"We really listen to the feedback from each breakfast, and our guests tell us to keep it real, keep it local - and leave plenty of time for getting to know others."

WOW Showtime will he held on April 7 at Bluebird Kitchen and Bar.

"We like to move around to support many local businesses, and the event is bigger or smaller depending on the venue size," said Mrs Hamlet.

Team WOW consists of five community-minded women.

They are Nicole Kane from Temp Solutions; Catherine Travers from Condamine Headwaters Landcare Group; Julia Keogh of ESN Solutions, Partners in Recovery; Corinne Butler from Tweak HR and Sue Hamlet from Fledge Design & Community Development.

The group's events are generously supported by the Southern Downs Industry Education Association.
