Wyverns into the grand final in ladies hockey

HOCKEY: Wyverns recorded a 5-1 victory against Saints this week to qualify for the grand final in Warwick ladies hockey.

Wyverns president Gary Millard said it was a great team performance on Wednesday night.

"The semi-final performance was the team's best in the past two months,” he said.

"While they all played well, Aidyn Jensen, Felicity Parsons and Sally Clifford rose to the occasion for the semi.

"Rachael Inmon, Kerri Fitch and Bree Shields were three who worried us from the Saints combination.”

Wyverns will now play Corinthians in the grand final on September 2.

On Tuesday night, Green won in a drop off from Scots to secure a grand final against Blue on August 29 in the mixed reserve-grade premiership decider.

The score was 0-all at full time and 0-all after the first five minute drop off before Kate Jordan scored a goal in the next minute of play to put Green into the grand final.

The men's semi was scheduled for Thursday night with the winner to play Wyverns in the grand final.

While the mixed grand final will be on Tuesday night next week, all other junior and senior grand finals will be on Saturday, September 2.

The ladies grand final will be at 5pm and the men will play at 6.30pm on grand final day.
