Yet another new shop opens in Rose City today

AFTER months of planning and hard work, Warwick now has a new Subway store in Rose City Shoppingworld.

The store opened this morning to the delight of management, staff and shoppers.

Store manager Vivek Mehta said the planning had been about a year in the making.

"Then the last three months have been very full on, getting everything organised for this opening," he said.

"Already we've had a few customers say how great it is that we're open and how convenient it is.

"There's another fresh, healthy option for shoppers and today, as an opening special, every transaction will get a free cookie."

The new store as well as the current store on the corner of Fitzroy and Albion Sts will both trade seven days a week.

Subway now employs 28 staff in Warwick after putting on 12 new faces in anticipation of the second store opening.

"We are still hiring, we're hoping to have a team of about 30 to 35 to manage the workload across both stores," Mr Mehta said.

"Everyone is very excited and the new shop and the centre overall, with all the work they've put into redevelopment, looks wonderful.

"Everything is full, there are new shops opening all the time and there are people everywhere."

Mr Mehta said the opportunity was too good to miss.

"Hopefully we can expose Subway to whole heap of new people that may not have necessarily tried it before," he said.

"Soon we'll have a grand opening sale so keep your eyes open for that one."

Mr Mehta said he was thankful to the local community.

"Warwick has been great to us and we really appreciate all their support," he said.

"Also a huge thanks to Roulston Builders, who always do an awesome job and are a real pleasure to work with.

"And I appreciate the efforts of my team as well, a big thanks to them also."
