You can eat our country's 'Coat of Arms' this Australia Day
IN celebration of Australia Day, Grill'd has created a 'Coat of Arms' burger, featuring a unique blend of kangaroo and emu, giving hungry Australians the opportunity to eat their national emblem.
The patriotic creation combines a premium and deliciously lean kangaroo and emu pattie with native thyme mayo, beetroot, quandongs, Meredith Dairy goats cheese, bush tomato relish and a host of other Australian-sourced ingredients to create a delicious and healthy burger with a uniquely Australian twist.
To mark the launch of this burger, Grill'd also unveiled its own take on the Australian Coat of Arms in Sydney yesterday, complete with a live kangaroo and an emu (Unfortunately the emu is not real life, although he looks the part. We wanted a real emu but apparently they don't get on too well - who knew?).
Grill'd founder Simon Crowe said a premium blend of lean kangaroo and emu meat, along with native ingredients, have been used to create a mouth-watering and truly Australian burger.
"At Grill'd, we're passionate about our meat, so it felt right to extend our menu with a unique and definitively Australian offering," he said.
"We are one of the only countries in the world to eat our coat of arms - and what could be more patriotic than that?"
The Coat of Arms burger will be available from selected Grill'd restaurants across the country between January 19 and 31 - but burger lovers will have to be quick, as only 50 will be made available per restaurant each day.
So if you're in need of tasty reminder of what makes this nation great, get down to one of our participating restaurants as soon as you can.
