Young farm girl lives her dream
SHE might be nicely tucked away on the family property, but the spotlight does not faze one Dalveen girl.
Nine-year-old Jordan Cassidy will take to the runway this weekend as she tests out her modelling walk for the first time in public as part of the Miss Country Girl Junior Warwick heats.
"I really like fashion and I have always dreamed of walking down a catwalk," Jordan said.
"So when I heard about this on the radio I got mum to look it up. She took two photos of me and sent them in and I got accepted."
The confident first-timer said she was not sure what to expect on the day, but was excited nonetheless.
"I have been practising up and down the hallway," the aspiring youngster said.
"Sometimes I feel a bit silly, but the more I practise the more normal it feels."
Mother Sam Cassidy said she knew the experience would be a good one.
"When Jordan asked me to do it I thought it could be something fun for her to do on her holidays," she said.
"She has always liked dress-ups and it will be good for her confidence and to meet other girls as well because she is home-schooled."
When she is not practising her walk, Jordan likes to spend her time with her pets or dancing.
"I have a dog, a cat, a lamb and a horse that I love to ride," she said.
Jordan will compete in the 8-12 year category for the title of Miss Country Girl Junior at Rose City Shoppingworld on Friday.
