Young guns eye off trophy

THE Warwick Colts have seen the glimmer of the Zone 5’s trophy and after a cracker game against Western Downs yesterday, the lads feel the urge for glory.

With a bird’s eye view in the box, co-announcer Colin Pope said Warwick’s under 45kg Junior Rugby League Carnival tussle was fought hard.

“It was a great game of football, it was four-all at half time and ended with a draw as no one scored during the second half,” Pope said yesterday.

Currently Warwick sits on top of the ladder by a small margin on 11 points.

“Wynnum is number two on 10 points and the 2009 champions (Western Downs) are third on nine points,” he said.

“There are only four games today and Warwick must defeat McIntyre in the opening game and they can’t be beaten.”

Warwick takes on McIntyre at 8am today.
