Young linguists test their skills on Japanese students

JAPANESE students from the School of Total Education last week put their language skills to the test, when the school hosted students from Kumiyama, Japan.

The Kumiyama Junior High School students stopped by the SOTE campus while on exchange to their sister school, Warwick State High School.

The SOTE Year 4 and 5 students were given the opportunity to meet the visitors and briefly describe themselves in their visitors' native tongue.

After the meet and greet session, the visiting students joined the SOTE secondary students in the dining room for a cooked lunch with their new friends.

To end the visit, principal Shane Power guided the Kumiyama students through a tour of the school campus and taught them about the different aspects of the school community.

The Kumiyama students spent a week touring the Warwick area and also met with Southern Downs Mayor Peter Blundell.
