Kids kept busy at Peace Festival

CHILDREN at the Peace Festival celebrations at the weekend had no time to be bored, with a large number of kids activities keeping everyone entertained.

Youngsters tapped into their creativity and screenprinted their own bag, adorned paintings with glitter and embellishments and even belted out a tune on an oversized set of drums.

Sisters Teak, Nixie and Clove Wynn meticulously applied carefully selected colours to their new bags and patiently waited for the paint to dry.

Tegan Byrnes chose to stick with a yellow theme for her design.

Her dad Mark said it was great for his normally shy daughter to be able to take part in her own activity and at her own pace.

“We come to the Peace Festival every time. There are lots of things the kids can do like activities and ball games. It's really good for them,” Mr Byrnes said.

A giant beach ball, which looked a little worse for wear at the end of the day, proved popular with the younger kids as they hit it to one another.
