Your guide to the Hottest 100

The once Australia Day staple has moved back 24 hours to January 27 after feedback received, but that doesn't mean people won't park around their radio this year.

Whether you're having a barbecue at home, taking a trip to the river or watching some of the best local cricketers at the Australia Day carnival, it is essential you have the dial set to 103.3FM.

With voting underway until January 22 (8am AEST), it is time to start thinking about who you will put in your top-10, and making your voice heard.

Kendrick Lamar - The rapper from Compton has a few songs that should poll well, however his main chance is Humble, which is the favourite with bookies to take out the title. He will be hoping to right the wrongs of 2015 when he was controversially edged by The Rubens.

Gang of Youths - They came into the mainstream eye after collecting a swag of awards at the ARIAs, and they can expect to be right there at the juicy end of the countdown. Being in the public eye recently may just be enough to get The Deepest Sighs over the line.

Lorde - New Zealand's greatest musical export since Dave Dobbyn, the 22-year-old has been a mainstay of the countdown since Royals fell agonisngly short in 2013. Green Light is the arguably the best song in contention, and at worst should see the young lady take out another podium spot.

Peking Duk - The boys from Canberra had a massive 2017, taking out song of the year with Stranger at the ARIAs. They are another group out for redemption after Chet Faker somehow got enough votes to overturn one of the songs of the decade, High.

If you need a bit of inspiration as to how you want to cast your opinion, take a gander at my take on 2017's best songs.

Lorde Green Light - My pick for song of the year. Everything about the song and the woman is complete perfection.

Kendrick Lamar DNA - A great song to get hyped to by the man himself, and a chance of a top-10 finish.

Peking Duk and AlunaGeorge Fake Magic - I've got a lot of love for Peking Duk, and this is another in their long list of bangers.

Post Malone ft. 21 Savage rockstar - Good song and even better beat. Might be too mainstream for a few however.

Lorde Homemade Dynamite - The remix of this song featuring Khalid, Post Malone and SZA is almost number one worthy.

Big Shaq Man's Not Hot - The song that came to fruition after his unique take on a freestyle rap, and has been viral ever since.

Macklemore ft. Skylar Grey Glorious - Boastful song featuring a solid beat and excellent vocals from Skylar Grey.

MO Nights With You - MO is the greatest thing since sliced bread. While not her best song, she deserves a top 10 spot.

Jay-Z Loyalty - When one of the greatest of all time drops a new album, he has to get a plug doesn't he?

Kendrick Lamar ft. Rihanna LOYALTY - Speaking of GOATs, it would be remiss to leave this solid tune off the list, featuring two quality artists.
