Youth create films at Warwick Art Gallery
ARTISTIC residents got their hands dirty at the Warwick Art Gallery this week through a series of workshops.
Art director Karina Devine said she aimed the workshops at the youth and adults in the community to seek out creative minds.
"We've had a really great group this week," she said.
"They've done a lot of stop motion and free-form animations."
Two filmmakers travelled up from Sydney to teach the future animators of Warwick.
Lucinda Clutterback and Lewis Argall have worked with art and animation for most of their lives and often run workshops across the country.
Ms Clutterback works for a Sydney company named Piccolo Films and has worked in animation since she was 21 years old.
"It's a new experience every time," Ms Clutterback said.
"People always come up with these amazing ideas.
"We've had a really interesting bunch of people come through."
The workshops have seven members and most are first-time animators who have expressed an interest in picking up the skills.
"There will be seven different, unique stories and they will all come together at the end," she said.
Lewis said it was great to watch people create their ideas, but the process wasn't easy.
"There's an awful lot of steps between cool concept and a finished product.
Ms Devine said the films would be on display in December but a special screening could be held sooner.
